Meet the founders
Hello!
We're Penny & Ash.
We're a Cambridge-based duo with a shared love of board games and bringing people together. Over the years, we've attended and hosted more game nights than we can count, swapping stories, yelling over rules, and building memories with friends and family around the table.
That's the feeling that inspired everything that followed.
In late 2025, Penny was made redundant. Then life threw us another surprise, we were pregnant. It felt like the perfect moment to take a leap: to channel Penny's creativity into something meaningful, exciting and truly ours.
That's how Order Up, Chef! was born.

We've poured everything we have (and more than a few late nights!) into designing a game that's fun, strategic, and easy to enjoy whether you're playing with family, mates down the pub, or just the two of you on the sofa.
Every card, every rule, every illustration has been thoughtfully crafted to capture the joy, competition and laughter we love about game nights, creating something you'll want to pick up again and again.
We trade as 124 Games Ltd, a small independent studio quietly run from Cambridge. Now we're taking the next big step going live and we're genuinely buzzing to see where this journey leads.

our passion
We eat out.
A lot.
Long before we designed our first card, we were the people taking photos of every dish, scribbling tasting notes on the back of receipts, and arguing (lovingly) about whether the service matched the sauce.
Reviewing restaurants became our unofficial second job — and it taught us what makes an evening out truly memorable. The anticipation, the presentation, the little surprises, the laughter between courses.
That same energy is baked into every hand of Order Up, Chef!

Conception
An idea inspired by our brilliant Chef cousin which slowly took form around the kitchen counter.

Test, Revise and Test Again
With unique and fun mechanics cemented, we tested and refined the smallest details over many hours with the help of friends and family.

We hired a brilliant illustrator to get the taste buds tingling and bring every dish to life.

The ideas and gameplay were brought to life as we crafted the overall design and layout of the game.
